Immunizations

Immunizations

Also commonly known as vaccines and vaccinations, immunizations are used to protect people from infectious diseases by stimulating the patient’s immune system to recognize and defend against specific pathogens. The body’s immune response to foreign organisms is key towards overcoming specific diseases as well as reduces that disease’s impact on the patient’s overall health.

Dr. Sareen works with his patients, listening to their concerns and answering their questions, so they remain safe during cold and flu seasons as well as remain protected from other threatening diseases. As seen with the Covid-19 pandemic, patients who were properly vaccinated and do not have their immune systems compromised were less likely to show symptoms, avoided more severe medical issues, and were less likely to need hospitalization.

Immunizations prepare the immune system to be able to defend itself from a specific disease. Many times after a vaccine has been administered, the patient may show mild symptoms as the body reacts accordingly, typically manifesting as a low-grade fever and fatigue. The antibodies generated during that process protect the body from that particular strain of a specific disease. Annual vaccinations are recommended to reduce the overall impact of various diseases and maintain good health.
